Positioning an academic offering for success 

The Web Science Institue is one of the world’s pre-eminent research institutions. It’s leading the development of web science as a discipline, but it wasn’t sure how to develop an offering that could sustain the work it was doing within the commercial environment. We were asked to address this challenge, looking at how the Faculty could develop partnerships for research impact

Visceral Business was asked to help The Web Science Institute develop a strategy to build on its academic integrity in a competitive marketplace, looking at its Faculty areas of practice and network of stakeholders.

This led to a series of initiatives, including a very popular MOOC series. We were honoured to have support for our overall approach from Professor Les Carr, head of the Faculty, and for him to endorse it at the Open Data Institute.
